What is HonorsBioHub?
HonorsBioHub is an online tutoring service specializing in high school honors biology. I am passionate about helping students build real confidence in a subject that many find challenging, through personalized, one-on-one instruction that meets each student where they are.
How does HonorsBioHub Tutoring work?
Sessions are conducted online, making it easy and convenient to get expert help from anywhere. Whether a student is struggling to keep up or looking to get ahead, we work together at their pace.
How much does it cost?
Sessions are $80 per hour. With over 15 years of teaching experience, 5+ years of online tutoring, and a Master's degree in Education, every session is designed to be focused, effective, and personalized to your student.
What are your tutoring hours?
I offer sessions Monday through Thursday from 5:30 to 9:30 PM Eastern (2:30 to 6:30 PM Pacific), and on Saturdays and Sundays from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM Eastern (8:00 AM to 6:00 PM Pacific).

Do you tutor subjects other than honors biology?
At this time, HonorsBioHub specializes exclusively in high school honors biology. This focused approach means you are getting an expert, I have over 1000 hours experience tutoring Honors Biology online.
What Makes Online Tutoring Effective?
The biggest factor is personalization. Honors biology curricula vary significantly from school to school, and every student has different gaps. Effective tutoring starts by understanding exactly what your student's class covers and where they're getting stuck, then adapts every session around that. When sessions are focused and individualized, students often see improvement faster than they expect.
How do I know if my child needs a tutor?
A few signs are worth taking seriously: grades that aren't recovering after a difficult test, a student who studies hard but still feels lost on exams, or frustration and anxiety around biology specifically. If your student is passing but not building real confidence, that's also a good time to consider support. The earlier a tutor gets involved, the easier it is to fill gaps before they compound.
What does a typical session look like?
Every session begins before we meet, with your student sending me class materials over what they want to work on. I review the materials before the lesson. When we both are in the lesson online we start with a check in. Before diving into content, I take a minute or two to find out if and where they're feeling stuck and if they have insights into what the lesson should focus on. That shapes everything that follows.
From there, we work through the concepts and materials together, not by re-reading notes, but by explaining and discussing the material, drawing out the processes, and then to be sure they understand it, making sure your student can explain it back in their own words or other check for understanding.
Sessions run at your student's pace. If we need to slow down and rebuild a concept from scratch, we do that. If they're ready to tackle harder application questions, we do that instead. No script, no one-size-fits-all lesson plan, personalized lessons based on your student's class and their needs.
The goal is for students leave feeling clearer and more confident. All while building understanding so that their confidence shows in class daily and on the next test.
